As the TrackBoyz; Mark “Tarboy” Williams and Joe “Capo” Kent, managed by Jeremy Geffen Entertainment, have engineered and produced dozens hip-hop singles and LPs. Williams started his career as a performer and was making a meager income peddling tracks of background beats when he was introduced to Kent in St. Louisin 1997, and ever since they have been producing beats.
The TrackBoyz started to be widely noticed as producers for Nelly (Cornell Haynes, Jr.) as “Nellyville” topped the Billboard charts in 2002. Nelly was one of the first rappers to break out of the local St. Louis scene at the time, and his producers the TrackBoyz were no small part of his success.
Williams and Kent have also produced projects for artists such as D12, Sean P, J-Kwon, Nappy Roots, and many others with Jeremy Geffen Entertainment. Soon after Tarboy and Capo signed on J-Kwon they started promoting his single “Tipsy”, which took the urban markets by storm and crept near the topof the Billboard charts in 2004. Today the TrackBoyz continue to sign and develop new talent.
