Facial implants are prosthetic devices tucked beneath the skin of the patient’s face to alter the underlying structure to improve the form of certain features of the chin, cheek, or lower jaw.

Dr B Yazdanfar advisesDuring the surgery for a chin implantation, the surgeon picks out the fitting size and shape for the implant to enhance the patient’s face and deposits it into a pouch over the front of the mandible. The small incision is cut following the lower lower lip to fashion the cavity and the implant is placed insideinside the mouth or within the soft tissue just under the chin area.
For a cheek implant surgical operation an incision will be cut either behind the patient’s top lip or the lower eyelid. A pocket is then created and the implant is deposited inside.
A lower-jaw implant procedure necessitates internal incisions to be made on both sides of the lower lip to render an entry for fashioning a pocket into which the lower-jaw implant can be tucked.

The duration and severity of discomfort and swelling may vary, especially if a second cosmetic surgery procedure was accomplished in conjunction.
